A daily act of remembrance

WHY MAKE DHIKR PART OF YOUR LIFE?

Dhikr is one of the simplest acts of worship, yet its rewards are immense.

01

Sins are erased

Certain forms of dhikr carry explicit promises of forgiveness. The Prophet ﷺ taught that saying SubhanAllahi wa bihamdihi 100 times causes sins to be erased, even if they are like the foam of the sea.

02

Thousands of good deeds

The Prophet ﷺ taught that saying SubhanAllah 100 times can earn 1,000 good deeds — or erase 1,000 sins.

03

The heart finds peace

Allah says that in the remembrance of Allah, hearts find rest. Dhikr is therefore not simply repetition; it is a means of turning the heart back toward Allah.

04

Protection from Shaytan

The Prophet ﷺ taught that whoever says a particular form of La ilaha illallah 100 times in a day receives protection from Shaytan until evening.

05

Immense reward for a small act

Dhikr can produce extraordinary reward from something that takes only moments. Saying La ilaha illallahu wahdahu la sharika lah... 100 times earns 100 good deeds, erases 100 sins, and carries the reward of freeing ten slaves.

06

An act of charity

The Prophet ﷺ taught that saying SubhanAllah, Alhamdulillah, La ilaha illallah, and Allahu Akbar counts as charity.

07

Allah remembers you

Allah says: “Remember Me; I will remember you.”

08

A path to greater remembrance

Allah commands believers to remember Him often, making dhikr something to incorporate throughout daily life rather than reserve for a single moment.

“Remember Me; I will remember you.”

Qur'an 2:152

My story

Being Muslim in America can be tough. Through teaching reverts and growing in my own faith, I noticed something we often have in common: it’s easy to get caught up in our heads and focus on everything we feel we’re doing wrong.

None of us are perfect. But there are small, beautiful ways to change our state in this life and our hereafter — and one of them is dhikr.

I wanted to find a way to make dhikr easier to carry into everyday life — at school, at work, or wherever the day takes you. Something modern, simple, and paired with a companion app to help you stay consistent.

And that’s how Al Rayan began. In honor of my very best friend. I love you, Rayan.
